How to Download TikTok Videos on Your Phone

Updated

You don't need another app to keep a TikTok video. If it's public, your phone's browser can do the job in about a minute.

On Android

  • In TikTok, open the video, press Share and choose Copy link.
  • Open the TikTok video downloader in Chrome and paste the link.
  • Press Get video, choose MP4 and pick a quality.
  • The file goes to your Downloads folder, and your gallery app usually shows it too.

On iPhone

  • Copy the link from TikTok's Share menu.
  • Open the TikTok video downloader in Safari and paste the link.
  • Press Get video, choose MP4 and pick a quality.
  • Open the Files app and look in Downloads. To add the video to Photos, open it, press Share and choose Save Video.

What about the watermark?

TikTok's own save option adds a moving logo to many videos. We ask for the plain video file, so that logo isn't added when TikTok offers a clean copy. Text the creator added to the video stays, as it's part of the picture.

Saving only the sound

Choose MP3 or M4A instead of MP4. M4A is a good choice on an iPhone, and MP3 plays almost anywhere.

If a link doesn't work

Check that the video plays in a browser without logging in. Private videos can't be saved, and TikTok sometimes refuses a request, so try again later. Only save videos you made or have permission to use. A public video still belongs to its creator.
