Saving a public Facebook video takes three steps. The part that trips people up is usually a video that isn't as public as it looks.
How to save a video
- Open the video, press Share and choose Copy link.
- Open the Facebook video downloader and paste the link.
- Press Get video, choose a format and press the download button.
Why some videos can't be saved

A quick test
Open the link in a private browser window without logging in. If the video doesn't play there, it can't be saved here. Only save videos you made or have permission to use. A public video still belongs to its creator.
