Audio formats
| Format | Good for | Notes |

| MP3 | Music players and older devices | Saved at 192 kbps |
| M4A | Apple devices and newer phones | AAC audio at 192 kbps |

Choosing a quality
The list shows the qualities available for your video, with the highest at the top, and an estimated file size where the site provides one. 1080p is a good choice for most screens. 720p saves space on a phone. 4K is worth it only if you have a 4K screen, and it can produce a very large file. A video can't be downloaded at a higher quality than it was uploaded in.
If your link doesn't work
- Make sure the video opens in a private browser window without logging in.
- Copy the full link, starting with https.
- Private, members-only, paid and DRM-protected videos can't be saved.
- Some sites block automated requests, so not every public link will work.
- Videos over 2 hours long aren't supported.
What to do with your files
If a video is for Instagram, a frame or thumbnail can be prepared with Instagram no crop. Need a different picture format? Try the image converter. You can see every tool on the home page.

| This video is unavailable or was removed | It no longer exists at that link | Check that it still plays in your browser |

How much space a video needs
File size depends on a video's length, quality and content. As a rough guide, one minute of 1080p video can range from about 15 MB to 50 MB, and 4K can be several times that. Fast action generally takes more space than a talking head. Before saving something long, check the size estimate if one is shown, and that you have enough free space. Audio is much smaller: at 192 kbps, an MP3 uses about 1.4 MB per minute.
Copyright and your responsibilities
Just because a video is public doesn't mean that you can freely copy or reuse it. Many sites' terms restrict downloading, and creators keep rights in their work. You are responsible for how you use this tool. If you are unsure, ask the owner for permission, or look for videos with a license that allows reuse.
